Why does the Unites States borrow money if they make so much more than any other country?

Most European countries don’t make but around 1.5 trillion, compared to the United States 12.7 trillion. Why must we borrow so much money, and why are we in such debt? I also don’t understand if this is true, why we don’t have that much better health care for our citizens, or higher quality of standards? Where does it all go?

Why don’t we print the equivalent of what we would borrow I don’t get it what is the point why do we need to borrow their paper to keep things in order why not just make more here im certain mathematical genius people working for the government can find a way to keeps things going and not cause inflation without borrowing fake paper? We went to the moon but we cant do basic math money is made out of paper think about it.

Why do governments borrow money at interest from private banks and have the citizens pay taxes on it? Doesn’t it seem much more logical to create all the interest free money it needs themselves and not have citizens paying taxes mostly to banks to finance loans?
It doesn’t seem to matter who is making money, just that it’s being created out of giving someone debt (specifically, in this case, the government).

I’m in a debate with someone who says we do not borrow money from China. He says Americans by bonds and sell them to foreign investors.
